Internship Positions
Year Round 2011
Escalera is recruiting highly motivated individuals to support development projects and operations at headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Working with Escalera will provide interns the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in administering a variety of development projects: including its scholarship program, building schools, and improving learning in indigenous classrooms. The intern will also help plan expeditions to Chiapas, Mexico to build schools, assist with record keeping duties, and help connect donors with Escalera projects and scholarship students.
Selection Criteria
Required:
The internship is open to all individuals who have interest in community development work and are able to write and speak Spanish. All applicants must be self-starters with excellent communication and team-work skills.
Preferred:
Previous work or volunteer experience with NGOs or community groups in developing nations, demonstrated leadership capacity, organizational skills, computer and graphic design experience, and a strong interest in Mexico are desirable.
